Before they could argue further, the Taiwanese suddenly recalled an ancient tale about the New Year Monster’s fear of firecrackers.
The duo then uncovered an entire box of fireworks within the stockpiles, and proceeded to scare away the monster. They then resumed the celebrations until after the sun came up.
Years later, they still remembered that night and vowed to always keep their promise … and a few spare boxes of firecrackers.

正當他們攪盡腦汁，極力想著辦法的時候，他們想起了自古以來，新年的時候，人們會用鞭炮來嚇跑年獸的傳說。
他們努力翻找，最終在儲藏室內發現了一盒未使用的鞭炮。高興之餘，用鞭炮的力量把年獸趕走了。事件平息後，大家便繼續慶祝新年直到日出。
自從那時開始，又過了許多年，他們依然記得那天的經歷。因為如此，他們發誓一定要信守承諾，儲藏室也不忘要放一些鞭炮以防萬一。

Aussitôt, les Taïwanais se sont rappelé une vieille légende qui disait que le monstre du Nouvel An pouvait être effrayé avec des pétards.
Le duo a ensuite trouvé une boîte de feu d’artifice et les ont allumés pour effrayer le monstre. Ils ont donc pu continuer de célébrer le Nouvel An jusqu’au matin.
Plusieurs années plus tard, ils se souvenaient encore de cette nuit. Ils s'étaient promis de toujours garder leurs promesses… et quelques boîtes de pétards!
