In the midst of the celebration, the Canadian and the Taiwanese eventually forgot about the time limit.
As the clock struck midnight, they received a notification on their cellphone. It was a warning since they had broken the contract with the New Year Monster.
As It’s howling grew near, Marc and Mei scrambled to hide their family in the basement of the house.

Les Canadiens et les Taïwanais étaient tellement enjoués par la célébration du Nouvel An qu’ils ont oublié la limite de temps imposée par le monstre du Nouvel An.
Comme minuit sonnait, ils ont reçu une notification sur leur téléphone cellulaire. C’était une mise en garde puisqu’ils avaient brisé le contrat qu’ils avaient passé avec le monstre du Nouvel An.
Le rugissement du monstre s’approchant dangereusement, Marc et Mei se sont empressés de se cacher avec leur famille et leurs amis dans le sous-sol de la maison.
